Omi Vaidya is best known for his role as Chatur Ramalingam in super hit bollywood movie 3 Idiots. He got much appreciation for his performance in the movie. Omi was born in January 10, 1982 in Yucca Valley, California, United States. He was married to Minal Patel on 22 August, 2009. Apart from acting, he is also a director of short films and directed two short films. Omi also edited various short films and documentaries. He made his appearance in many television program and commercials.

Omi is well qualified actor. He completed his graduation from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. Further he also attended University of California, Santa Cruz.
Career:
He was keen to get into acting since his childhood and did various plays during his study period. He always visited Mumbai from United States to learn and adopt the Indian culture aiming acting for Hindi films. He did various English plays during his college days. He learnt about filmmaking, editing and acting from New York University Film School. He also learnt some technical languages which used widely on the on the sets. After completing his graduation, he tried for roles in films and television serials. Omi soon got small roles in television serials and some commercials. He played small role in Arrested Development. Though, Omi got roles in television programs and commercials but he was not fully satisfied by his career.
Good time for Omi was about to come and finally it came with famous bollywood writer/director Raj Kumar Hirani’s offer to play the character of Chatur Ramalingam in his film ‘3 Idiots’. By doing the role of Chatur Ramalingam, he became much popular and got huge comments from people.
Omi also made his appearance on small screen and hosted a popular television reality show Chhote Ustaad on STAR Plus in 2010.
